Muhammad Iqbal
One of the most important figures in Urdu culture Sir Muhammad Iqbal (Muhammad Iqbal) was born on 9th November 1877 Sialkot Punjab. He is known as Shair-e-Mushriq meaning Poet of the East. His father name was Shaikh Noor Muhammad. Some of his most well known Urdu works are Bang-i-Dara, Bal-i-Jibril and Zarb-i Kalim. His main interests ware in Urdu poetry and Persian poetry. His notable ideas were Two-Nation Theory and Conception of Pakistan. He was sent to the mosque to learn the Quran at four years old. He got the Faculty of Arts diploma from Scotch Mission College in 1895. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and graduated first in his philosophy class. Iqbal died April 21, 1938.
